The E&I Leveraged Analytical Sciences (LAS) group is a global analytical science organization that supports DuPont’s Electronics and Industrial businesses. The Wilmington (LAS) function located at the Experimental Station in Wilmington, DE is seeking to employ a Senior Scientist (RI), with primary responsibilities in analytical measurements that include X-ray tomography, Spectroscopy, Microscopy, and other related techniques. The successful candidate will provide integrated solutions for our thermal management sectors, Semi-Conductor and Emerging Technologies, Interconnect, and Industrial Solutions in collaboration with our Core Analytical, Engineering and Business unit networks. The successful candidate will be involved in supporting projects locally and globally within our Integrated Analytical platforms in Wilmington and will be expected to partner with our new ventures in E&I. He/she must be highly motivated, flexible, and responsive to the changing priorities within the Electronics and Industrial (E&I) business.

Responsibilities:

+ Be proficient in physical and chemicalanalytical techniques, to include Surface Analyses and Spectroscopic techniques, including sample preparation.

+ Efficient materials failure analysis and solution implementation is required. Knowledge of electrical testing is desirable.

+ Safely operate and maintain analytical laboratory equipment

+ Think creatively, trouble shoot and work in partnership with business project leaders to develop innovative, integrated solutions based on sound scientific analysis

+ Manage time and projects effectively and efficiently, cooperating across analytical competencies

+ Generate analytical reports to meet R&D, product qualification, and competitive analysisand benchmarking needs

+ Fulfill all requirements of group, site, and company safety, ethics, and quality programs

Qualifications:

+ PhDin Chemistry, Physics, Engineering, or related field

+ Minimum 3 years analytical experience in an industrial or academic setting

+ Demonstrated ability to partner cohesively and work independently as needed while integrating functional guidance from experienced colleagues and leaders.

+ Willing to adopt new skill sets in multiple analytical competencies

+ Excellent written and oral communication skills

Required Skillsets:

+ Proficiency in probing surfaces and interfaces via any physical or chemical Analytical techniquewith the ability to troubleshoot processes across the production pipeline.

+ Extensive experience with analytical instrumentation software packages for instrument control and data interpretation

+ Efficiency in problem solving and providing integrated solutions.
