VP/VP, DMPK & Clinical Pharmacology. This role will be responsible for all aspects of DMPK, pharmacometrics and clinical pharmacology from preclinical programs through drug approvals. This includes the use of MIDD, PBPK/quantitative systems pharmacology modeling for dose optimization/justification and clinical pharmacology studies supporting development programs. Provision of scientific and technical expertise and guidance on all aspects of preclinical DMPK evaluation of investigational small and large molecule agents in the research pipeline is also included. This highly visible role requires exceptional communication skills with senior stakeholders and an ability to work effectively with the clinical, translational and preclinical functions.
Essential Functions of the Job (Key responsibilities)

Foster and drive a culture of high quality experimental design, data generation and analysis to support decision making on individual programs.
Provide cross-functional leadership to champion the use of contemporary pharmacometric modeling based approaches for drug discovery and development.
Drive productive and collegial partnerships across clinical, translational and research teams to deliver integrated decision enabling data sets.
Effectively communicate functional area updates/issues to stakeholders internally and externally.
Establish and continually enhance good, effective working rapport with other functions including Biology, Chemistry, Clinical Development & Operations, Regulatory etc.
Ensure adherence to best practice in ADME optimization, clinical pharmacology, dose optimization and compliance.
Ensure successful and fully compliant operation of regulated activities including clinical pharmacology trials and GLP laboratory activities.
Recruit, develop and retain highly skilled scientists with a proven track record of enabling cutting edge drug discovery and development.
Be responsible for prudent management of the departmental budgets.
Manage resourcing of multiple projects to ensure achievement of agreed department, company and strategic objectives.
Be an effective sounding board for diverse ideas and champion adoption of value adding strategic initiatives.
Qualifications (Minimal acceptable level of education, work experience, and competency)

MD and/or Ph.D. in the life sciences with training or experience in pharmacometrics
Broad familiarity with MIDD, QSP and other contemporary modeling based approaches for drug development. Hands-on experience in these areas is highly preferred.
10 - 15+ years of leadership experience in a successful and productive environment and across various stages of pharmaceutical R&D, especially in clinical facing aspects of drug development.
Deep understanding of the drug discovery process and regulatory guidelines with experience advancing discovery candidates to IND/NDA.
Experience with enabling successful registration of innovative products in US and other territories.
Extensive experience in managing, mentoring and developing talent across multidisciplinary teams with diverse technical and managerial skills.
Proven ability to lead teams in the discovery, advancement and delivery of high quality, innovative medicines.
