Position Summary

Finxact, a Fiserv Company is looking for an innovative and passionate Database Administrators to join our growing team. As a Database Administrator, you will be a key contributor within the organization, managing and maintaining of databases across our enterprise.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The type of activities expected to be performed at this level include, but are not limited to:

+ Monitoring system performance and identifying problems that arise.

+ Responding alerts and user reported errors in timely manner.

+ Protecting database against security threats and unauthorized access.

+ Management of backups, indexes and partition and other database maintenance activates

+ Reporting on metrics regarding usage and performance.

+ Designing databases with the highest scalability and throughput in mind.

+ Design database management systems for failover and high availability

Education and Experience Minimum Qualifications

+ Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience

+ 6-8 years of hands-on?database administration experience

+ 4+ Years of Postgres administration experience

+ Strong knowledge of relational database systems

+ Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL

+ Hands on experience with database maintenance and profiling tools such as PGAdmin, PGBench, Pg-badger, Pg-Repack

+ Experience with Docker and Kubernetes

+ Hands on experience with cloud PostgreSQL offerings such as RDS, Aurora, Cloud SQL

+ Experience with database connection pooling and load balancers.

+ Minimal travel (<5%) for occasional team meetings.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers and smartphones.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work may vary but generally Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This position may require long hours and weekend work.
