Job Summary (Primary function)
The Associate Director, Market Insights generates market insights that support effective decision making and tactic development within the marketing, sales, market access and other commercial functions for Jakafi (ruxolitinib). This includes, primary research, secondary research and data analysis that guide key business decisions related to marketing strategy, forecasting, reimbursement / access, sales and life cycle management. The position supports the sustained launch of Jakafi in its first indications, myelofibrosis and polycythemia vera, as well as prepare for the launch of future indications within the Hematology/Oncology space.
Essential Functions of the Job (Key responsibilities)
Generate and communicate value added customer and market insights to optimize the commercial strategy for Jakafi (ruxolitinib) hematological conditions (myeloproliferative disorders).
Collect, analyze, and synthesize market information from diverse sources to provide insight on Brand and Market Performance.
Work in close partnership with Marketing, Sales, Market Access, Finance and Commercial Operations colleagues to effectively identify key business questions, identify appropriate research needed and manage delivery of the overall research plan.
Lead the design and implementation of primary and secondary market research activities, qualitative and quantitative and ensure appropriate compliance and legal requirements are incorporated and reviews completed in a timely manner.
Manage all vendors for research on customer perceptions and usage patterns, market priorities, message development, and other key activities.
Create and maintain network of market research vendors.
Cut cost/improves quality of market research to maintain optimal mix of internal resources and external vendors Ability to lead multiple projects and processes within a growing organization.
Maintain in-house acquired knowledge and develops rich interpretation of research findings.
Qualifications (Minimal acceptable level of education, work experience, and competency)
Bachelor's Degree required.
5+ years' experience in market research/analytics role in the pharmaceutical/ biotechnology industry.
Ability to conduct primary (ie. ATUs, Chart Audits, Message Recall and Testing, etc.) and secondary market research (Prescription, Sales, EMRs, Claims Data etc) studies.
Strong analytical capability and critical thinking skills.
Proven ability to effectively interact with stakeholders and decision makers and work cross functionally and manage internal working relationships.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, with presentation experience to all management levels
Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint required.
Ideal candidate has broad experience with insight and analytics from a Marketing, Sales and Market Access Insight perspective.
Familiarity with data sources for monitoring Sales and Marketing performance with products in Specialty Distribution Networks preferred.
Oncology and Hematology market knowledge and experience preferred.
Experience with smaller/niche markets and rare diseases preferred.
Knowledge and experience with epidemiology data sources preferred.
Working knowledge of Business Intelligence tools (ie. Qlikview, Microstrategy, Business Objects, etc) preferred.
