Job Description:

The Professional Services Veterinarian- Parasitologist will function to support the medical and scientific needs of the companion animal business unit as it relates to parasitology and our company’s Animal Health portfolio. This individual will interact with companion animal teams, key industry opinion leaders, and our customer base to achieve the goals of the veterinary insights and medical affairs team and the companion animal business unit of our company’s Animal Health. The position is strategic, collaborative, operational, and visionary in the scope of the activities.

Key responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

+ Serve as the Company subject matter expert on parasitology to assist in the development and execution of strategic goals and initiatives as they relate to the Company portfolio of products

+ Work to integrate the Company parasitology, therapeutic, and technology portfolios to identify, manage, and execute on key strategic initiatives

+ Represent Company as a scientific speaker and technical expert to veterinarians and staff in the field and at regional and national meetings by communicating key scientific topics and representing the Company

+ Develop presentations for external delivery

+ Maximize effectiveness in presentation delivery and strategically target presentations

+ Consult with individual veterinary clinics as needed on field ride-withs and for technical expertise and problem-solving

+ Interact with and inform key opinion leaders and veterinarians in the field on Company products and technology

+ Develop KOL networks and relationships through field visits with universities and specialty clinics

+ Assist in developing advisory boards and the speaker’s bureau

+ With other specialist members of Stakeholder engagement, lead the VIMA Company Residency and Fellowship program

+ Expand strategic partnerships and initiatives with allied industry partners and veterinary organizations

+ Partner with industry associations in the fields of parasitology and general veterinary medicine to support animal-health related topics, with a specific focus on parasitology organizations such as AAVP, NCVP, CAPC and AHS

+ Work with key external industry partners on collaborative opportunities

+ Develop and deliver engaging training on parasitology as it relates to the Company portfolio to Company veterinarians and employees

+ Collaborate with Medical Affairs, R&D, and Marketing to ensure new parasitology product introductions are technically accurate and relevant to the field of veterinary parasitology and veterinary medicine

+ Work closely with Medical Affairs, T&D, marketing, R&D, and sales to develop and deliver training on parasitology portfolio, including new product launches and in-line portfolio

+ Work across Company departments to collaborate and consult on research projects

+ Assist with design and coordination of post-approval Market Support Studies of licensed products/technologies to generate clinically relevant and economically important information.

+ Serve as a consultant for clinical trials and pre-clinical development of parasitology products

+ Write publications, white papers, and articles of interest where relevant

+ Assist in the identification and evaluation of opportunities to expand the Company portfolio

+ Collaborate across departments, including marketing, professional services, R&D, BD, and sales to help manage projects and identify key opportunities as they relate to parasitology and Company portfolio

+ Obtain valuable real-world information and insight through various channels, including attendance at scientific conferences, field visits to university research facilities and selected private practices to help with the prioritization and evolution of our company’s Animal Health portfolio.

Education Minimum Requirement:

+ Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) degree

+ Either or both:

+ Board Certification DACVM in parasitology

+ PhD with a background in companion animal parasitology research

+ Current license to practice veterinary medicine within the United States

Required Experience and Skills:

+ 5 years relevant work experience includes any of the following:

+ Private practice

+ Specialty practice

+ University practice

+ Government

+ Other industry/Research

+ Excellent communication skills both verbal and written, including highly effective presentation skills

+ Must be able to work effectively with key opinion leaders, our customers, and the our company’s Animal Health team

+ Must demonstrate business acumen to effectively develop and manage projects and deliverables

+ Demonstrates the ability to draw appropriate and scientifically balanced conclusions from reports/data and analyses to support product recommendations

+ Must be able to strategize and manage project activities, collaborating with other stakeholders to maximize team’s results

+ Understand customers’ or stakeholders’ needs, requirements, and expectations in order to continuously seek new ways to improve the delivery of products and services

+ Skilled at developing strong networks and relationships

+ Excellent presentation skills

+ Practical and industrial experience

+ Demonstrated self-motivation

+ Ability to work independently

+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

+ Must live near a major airport

+ Travel requirements for this position are a minimum of 60% of the time. Travel responsibilities will be prioritized by project value

Preferred Experience and Skills:

+ Experience with companion animal parasiticides

+ Experience with industry
