ChristianaCare is currently recruiting for a Laboratory Receiving Clerk to work part time, 40 hours bi-weekly, in the Christiana General Lab. This position is evening shift, 2:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Every other weekend required. Holidays as required.
In this role you will perform pre and post analytical functions that support the testing of specimens received in the General Laboratory.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Process, sort, and deliver laboratory specimens and request slips
Print and properly affix identification labels to all incoming patient specimens
Prioritize incoming work, ensuring samples for stat testing are delivered to the appropriate laboratory section in order to maintain stated turnaround times
Communicate specimen priority to testing personnel upon delivery
Education and Experience Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent
Two years applicable clinical experience working in a lab environment with specimens or equivalent college courses in the health care field
