Job Responsibilities

The Analysis & Fine Chemistry group in Air Liquide's Delaware Innovation Campus in Newark, Delaware is seeking a talented, collaborative, Ph.D researcher to join our multidisciplinary group supporting the development of new spin on deposition (SOD) formulations and processes for the semiconductor industry. This team develops and tunes targeted materials to suit customers application processes for use in the electronics industry.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for silicon and other metal/metal oxide polymer synthesis and formulation development and working closely with team members for the development of new spin on film processes.Experience with silicon and other metal/metal oxide polymer synthesis, especially air sensitive material handling is required.
Duties and Responsibilities
Serve as a safety role model; promote a high level of safety awareness and continuous improvement in safety practices.
Cultivate and maintain knowledge of literature, patents and evolutionary trends related to the assigned technology area.
Contribute in the design and synthesis of new SOD formulations for application in the semiconductor and non-semiconductor applications including silicon and metal/metal oxide polymer synthesis
Build knowledge in SOD processes, formulation structure and functional relationship based on SOD process performance by working closely with the SOD process team members.
Innovate new solutions and generate IP for the SOD portfolio. Support and foster existing customer relationships
Understands customer needs and proactively address technology needs and lead R&D initiatives to bring solutions in reasonable timeline.
Develop and support new and alternative technologies
Interact with AL global business, marketing, operations, production and product development teams
Support quality control development and scale up of new product formulations working closely with product development teams
Interact from time to time on as-need basis with global R&D to: Lead and foster customer interactions, participate and present at technical conferences, lead or participate in Industrial partnerships and academic collaborations.

PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or Material Science with specialization in the synthesis of silicon(e) or other metal/metal oxide polymers including the handling of air sensitive materials in glove boxes and Schlenk line
Experience in analytical techniques for the analysis of chemicals, formulations and polymers including GPC, FTIR, NMR, TGA, DSC, GC, and other techniques
Experience working on interdisciplinary topics and with strong ability to interact efficiently in an international environment
3+ years of industrial experience with hands on experience with silicon and/or metal/metal oxide polymer synthesis and air sensitive material handling
