The selected applicant will be capable of performing, in a semi-independent to independent manner, a range of laboratory functions. This can encompass from operating standardized test equipment as per standardized procedures to assisting in the development of experimental procedures for prototype laboratory equipment. The selected applicant should be able to work as part of a team as well as be able to work individually. The person should have good observational skills and the ability to logically evaluate experimental results.
Operate, troubleshoot, perform basic maintenance, identify needed repairs of laboratory equipment
Conduct experiments using laboratory equipment.
Prepare chemical formulations - mixtures
Maintain laboratory chemical inventories and ensure safe use, storage, and disposal of all chemicals.
Ensure all laboratory operations are in accordance with Solenis safety rules.
Use Microsoft Excel to record and display, in both tabular and graphical form, test plans, formulation data, experimental data and results of calculations.
Use Excel to develop macros to perform repeated calculations.
Use Microsoft Word and PowerPoint to record procedures and test methods and to document experimental results and conclusions.
Minimum of a 2 year degree in scientific/technical area. BA or BS in scientific/technical area preferred.
Academic or work experience involving testing, experimental investigations, and/or data analysis
Academic or work experience with operating laboratory instrumentation and machinery
Academic or work experience with basic chemistry- mixtures, percentage of components
Working knowledge of MS Excel, MS Word, and PowerPoint
Proficient math skills including algebra and arithmetic
Proficient verbal and written skills
