Title:
Cost Controls Specialist
Specialist, Cost Control
Under general supervision, and occasional direct supervision, performs assignments requiring experience and knowledge of standard concepts within project cost controls. Displays core competencies by analyzing possible solutions using standard procedures while developing advanced skills.
This position will be based out of a client’s site in Newark, DE.
Responsibilities
+ Provide cost controls services for a portfolio of projects be executed at the site.
+ Forecasts, controls, and reports project costs for site projects
+ Develops and provides project variances, trending and analysis of expenditures, and completion reports
+ Reviews project costs incurred by category, calculates future costs based on labor productivity, material price increases, subcontract, wage rates and risk analysis
+ Manage confidential customer and owner cost information according to guidelines
+ Provide cost forecasting guidance to project team
+ Perform Overhead, Contract Administration and Budget Management processes including monthly preparation and presentation
+ Perform financial reconciliations and project and process audits as needed
+ Supports the payment invoicing process.
+ Actively interfaces with both KBR and client personnel : Project managers, engineering work group leads, procurement specialists, and field execution personnel to obtain needed cost and schedule performance status updates for including into the integrated project performance reporting.
Requirements/Qualifications
+ Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in related Business or Finance degree preferred.
+ One to four years of related experience preferred.
+ Must be proficient in SAP PS for both KBR and client systems. Knowledge of SAP WBS structures required
+ Must be knowledgeable in small projects cost systems and activities
+ Knowledgeable in plant or project-based procurement processes for 3rd party services and materials is beneficial
+ Must be proficient in Excel and other Microsoft office products
+ Creation of Pivot tables, Charts
+ LOOKUP functions, MATH functions,
+ Creation and edit of formulas for financial analysis
+ Filter, sort, conditional formatting
+ Knowledge of a typical plant-based Work Initiation Request Process: Creating work requests, tracking, and status reporting is beneficial.
+ Excellent communication skills and ability to function within a project team
