Description

This program prepares students to work as trainees with sleep technologists in the performance of diagnostic sleep studies that are required for the evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders. Sleep recordings are made during the patient’s usual sleep hours-techs may work during the night usually in 10-12 hour shifts. This program was developed in accordance with the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) as well as with the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists.  Together with the recommended work experience and recommended completion of the 14 AASM A-STEP self-study modules, this course will prepare the student to sit for the Registered Polysomnographic Technician (CPSGT) exam.


Tuition includes textbooks and BLS certification.


Prerequisite:  Attendance at an information session.


This course is an online format but includes (3) 10-hour sessions of overnight clinical experience.


Minimum 10.0 grade-level equivalent in BOTH Reading and Math; Accuplacer placement test.
