Instructional Program (CIP)
Qualified applicants obtain a teaching position in a Delaware public or parochial school, then complete a series of five courses or seminars plus pass a test of their content knowledge and a portfolio demonstrating their teaching ability at the end of two years. Meanwhile, they teach that first two years on an Emergency Certificate issued by the state of Delaware because they are participants are in an approved alt. rtes. program. In addition to class time and tests, all ARTC teachers receive one-on-one coaching from a veteran teacher familiar with their field who meets with them at their school and helps them reflect on their teaching through observations and video recording of their practice.
