Role

The Technology Manger of Leveraged Sciences and Engineering (LS&E) is responsible for leading leveraged technology and engineering resources to support key initiatives in the Water Solutions technology growth portfolio. Working with other R&D, Technical Service & Development, Manufacturing Technology, and Innovation Operations leaders in the Water Solutions business, the S&E manager will prioritize growth initiatives and deploy leveraged resources in the Water Solutions’ technical organization to accelerate key programs aligned with the business and technology strategies. The S&E Technology Manager will also identify key leverageable engineering and science competency needs within the Water Solutions business to maintain and develop them to enable future innovation led growth. The S&E Technology manager will also be responsible for operating pilot and contract operations supporting the research and development of new processes and products. In addition, the LS&E manager is expected to support the Global Technology Leader in various strategic and administrative responsibilities. Initially, this role will have 8-10 directly reporting team members and is expected growth over time. The role will report to the Global Technology Leader of Water Solutions and be a key member of the business’ Technology Leadership Team.

Responsibilities

+ Deploy resources and provide leadership for key science and engineering initiatives to drive high priority growth programs defined in the business’ technology strategy.

+ Identify, adjust and grow the leveraged science and engineering capabilities of the Water Solutions business to support fast growing opportunities such as process optimization of close circuit reverse osmosis (CCRO), biological wastewater treatment, enterprise sustainability engagement, digital, and other emerging innovation spaces.

+ Work with the DWS technology leadership team in accelerating talent and organizational development for the technology and innovation function.

+ Assist the Water Solutions Global Technology Leader in various strategic and administrative responsibilities to support the Water Solutions’ technology organization.

Specific Qualifications

+ Education: minimum BS degree in Chemical Engineering, Material Science & Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Science and Engineering or other equivalent background and experiences.

+ Industrial and management experiences: 7+ years’ experience in a technology-driven or technology-enabled non-commodity business. 3+ years of people management experience.

+ Chemical/mechanical process operation and modeling: Experience of operating/managing pilot for process scale up and process simulation for design and optimization.

+ Innovation: familiarity with end to end innovation solutions development process from ideation to commercialization.

+ Experience establishing joint development agreements, consulting or service contracts supporting technical development.

+ Experience with Intellectual Property (IP) strategy, portfolio development and IP management is a plus.

Travel <25%
