Senior Financial Analyst

job summary:

As part of the Corporate Controller’s Department, The Senior Financial Analyst will assist with Financial Reporting to the Board and third party entities. The Financial Reporting team supports GAAP and reporting across multiple legal entities, including subsidiary financial statements, disclosures, analysis, various regulatory filing submissions, external reporting for Separate Accounts and internal and external audit support. The team partners with Business Unit Finance and Operations areas.

Your Role:

The Senior Financial Analyst will support the Controller with responsibility for various subsidiary financial statements, disclosures and Board / Executive reporting

The responsibilities of this position will include:

+ Preparation of various subsidiary financial statements and disclosures, legal entity financial statement analysis, while ensuring the control, timeliness and accuracy of the financial statements

+ Preparation of monthly financial statements and Cash Flow reporting

+ Preparation and/or review of Subsidiary financial statements and analysis

+ Continuously identify efficiencies and process improvements to drive effectiveness and consistency

+ Maintain internal control standards to ensure compliance with Accounting Policies and Procedures

+ Support special projects, initiatives and ad-hoc report and analysis requests

+ Responsible for maintenance of standard operating procedures

+ Ability to work overtime during peak periods


What we are looking for in your background

What you’ll need to succeed:

+ Bachelor’s or Graduate degree in Accounting or Finance

+ Big 4 or large Regional Public experience is preferred.

+ 2-4 years of financial reporting and analysis experience

+ Strong understanding of GAAP and/or Statutory accounting principles and reporting preferred

+ Ability to manage multiple responsibilities under challenging time frames

+ Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills

+ Strong interpersonal, collaborative and partnering skills

+ Self-motivated, proactive, detail oriented while maintaining a big picture perspective

+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with all staff levels

+ Strong Microsoft Excel skills
