Construction Manager (Job Number: 212210W-01)
Construction Manager (CM) reports to the Capital Engineering Leader and is a ccountablefor all aspects of capital project Construction Management across the fullrange of projects for the E&I (Electronics & Imaging) Business. The CM isthe Subject Matter Expert regarding the implementation strategies and executionof all construction activities supporting capital projects for thebusiness. The CM role is expected to leadthe Capital construction contracting processes across all global sites. The
CM must collaborate/interface with the Regional Capital Execution Leaders, Site
Engineering Leaders and directly with the Project Team Leaders (PTL) at the manufacturing
sites to ensure that the full range of capital engineering capabilities are in
place to efficiently and effectively execute projects in a safe and cost-effective
manner. Ensures that capital plans and activities are aligned with business
needs to meet or exceed targeted goals. Success is measured by safety
performance, predictable project cost and spending, schedule compliance,
quality of facilities and processes and contribution to business improvement.
+ Ensures construction contracting processes forcapital projects at multiple plant sites are strategically and tacticallyaligned to enable safe and efficient execution of Capital Projects for theE&I Business across the global network of sites.
+ Ensures contracted Construction Management (CM)services are meeting our expectations in all areas including core values,productivity, quality cost and schedule by implementing, tracking and reportingkey metrics data.
+ Ensure construction effectiveness / competitivenessin the capital programs are accomplished through communications ofalternatives, assess risk/benefit trade-offs, and offer mitigation options forfinal decision and alignment of key stakeholders.
+ Ensure appropriate Construction inputs are providedin a timely manner to influence and determine construction execution strategiesduring the FEL process. Bring DuPontorganizations/competencies to bear throughout End to End project process inalignment with Owner’s Role.
+ Leverage Contractor Construction Management (CM)resources and capability to enable safe and efficient execution of fieldconstruction activities.
+ Challenge internal DuPont paradigms of the OwnerConstruction needs and objectives to better represent the owner’s interestduring early FEL prior to engaging the contractor.
+ Ensure all construction processes strictly adhere tothe DuPont Corporate/ Business Intellectual Property (IP)/ Trade Secrets (TS)content policy.
+ Implement execution metrics with targets andimprovement actions to drive construction execution excellence.
+ Accountable to ensure development and implementationof Project Quality Plans, including auditing work processes and deliverablesfor compliance, and for meeting agreed upon project quality requirements andexpectations for Construction Competency.
+ Worksclosely with Capital Engineering Leader and Regional Capital Execution Leadersto develop appropriate execution strategy for major projects.
+ Ensures engineering deliverables at each EngineeringReadiness Assessment and Gate Review are at the appropriate level ofcompleteness/quality and consistent with delivering successful projects to thebusinesses.
+ Provides coaching and mentoring to PTL’s and SiteEngineering Leaders regarding Construction competencies. This may require dealing with day-to-dayexecution issues on difficult projects or supporting less experienced PTL’s.
+ Engineering Degree or demonstratedequivalent competency through construction work experience and ConstructionIndustry certifications
+ 10 yrs of direct experience as aConstruction Manager on major/ complex Capital projects.
+ Ownersignoff on critical lifts, project safety plans and risk identification/mitigation strategies
+ Demonstrated track record ofachieving business and project results on capital projects as a critical leader.
+ Demonstrated strong Construction CompetencyExpertise which requires extensive experience through assignments in areas suchas: Project Leadership, Construction Management, and Contract Administration.
+ Masteryknowledge of construction contracting strategies and contract management
+ Wideknowledge of construction crafts
+ Commissioningand startup and handover to ops
+ Sequencing,staging, warehousing, Heavy haul / heavy lift planning
+ Demonstrates ability to effectivelydirect and influence leadership across multiple sites and regions.
+ Must exhibit strong leadershipskills and ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
+ Demonstrates a value for diversity.
