Job Title

Civil/Structural Transmission Line Engineer

Job Summary

Full-time position with general supervision that may involve mentoring and assisting junior engineers. Candidates must be proficient in general structural engineering practices and possess 10+ years of experience in engineering of transmission lines and structures.

Responsibilities and Duties

+ Create and review necessary design and construction documents in support of steel pole and lattice tower transmission projects

+ Design criteria that meet industry standards and specifications

+ Steel pole/Lattice Tower loading calculations

+ Design drawings and specifications

+ Foundation designs and drawings

+ Foundation models on industry standard software, MFAD and LPILE

+ Follow QA/QC protocols

+ Coordinate with Project Engineer and Project Manager to communicate planned and expected project scope, budget, quality, and timelines

+ Follow sound project management practices

+ Travel to client offices and job sites as needed

Qualifications and Skills

+ 10+ years of experience in Transmission Engineering

+ Lattice Tower Design and Analysis

+ Steel Pole Design and Analysis

+ Foundation Design and Analysis

+ Proficiency at foundation design industry software MFAD, LPILE

+ Familiarity with PLS-CADD & PLS-CADD/Pole modeling and functionality

+ Familiarity with Microsoft Office Software Suite functionality

+ Strong command of the English language, written and oral

+ Ability to communicate effectively with a team, leadership skills is a plus

Education and Desired Qualifications

+ B.S. degree in Civil Engineering is required, Master’s Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering is a plus

+ Professional Engineering License (PE) required

+ Substation structural/civil experience is a plus

Special Conditions of Employment

+ Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen, background investigation, and Motor Vehicle Records Check (MVR)

+ Must have a valid driver’s license

Physical Requirements:

Rarely = less than 10%

Occasionally =up to 33%

Frequently = up to 66%

Continuously = 67% to 100%
