Job Description

The Risk Policy Senior Officer I reports to a Risk Policy Senior Group Manager, and supports the Global Unsecured Product Oversight Director and North America and Mexico Group Risk Director. Responsibilities include coordinating oversight and reporting processes, performing a variety of ad-hoc analytical projects including in-depth product/program analytics, preparing materials for senior managers and regulators, and liaising with other areas throughout Citi as needed. The candidate will work closely with a broad set of business, risk and operations teams across all regions. Key Responsibilities This role is responsible for conducting analyses on both a global and regional basis pertaining to credit policy and policy exceptions, Risk Appetite Frameworks, adherence to risk limits, risk concentrations, and associated oversight and governance processes. The role also supports helps coordinate and prepare materials for review by risk seniors, regulators, North America, Mexico and Global Governance forums and the Citi Board of Directors. The function entails a significant amount of process comparison and practice evaluation across the Global Consumer Businesses and will become a main support resource for a number of ongoing and planned projects. The candidate will be responsible for maintaining various policy-related reporting while designing and implementing incremental reporting processes as needed to monitor adherence to policies. He/she will also have responsibility for, or participate in, program, process or product reviews to identify best practices and/or policy gaps. Finally, the candidate will assist in revising policies as needed, and preparing and delivering educational/training materials to ensure policy adherence as necessary. Key Responsibilities include: Provide oversight and guidance to in-business risk teams regarding global consumer credit policy. Work with groups throughout the Global Consumer Bank to provide effective challenge of proposed strategy changes and new product programs. Perform Global Concentration, Significant Credit Change, Credit Test, Balanced Scorecard, Currency Risk and Leading Indicator reporting and associated analysis. Collaborate in special projects, ad hoc analyses, senior reporting and regulatory requests as required. Work with other teams within Global Consumer Risk Management to enhance oversight tools and processes. Liaise with the central Risk Appetite, Risk Identification, Risk Governance and Risk Policy teams. Prepare gap and/or impact analyses related to policy and regulatory changes. Qualifications: Knowledge /Experience 10+ years of experience in consumer credit risk management, preferably across multiple consumer lending products and functions. Ability to work well under pressure and with exceedingly short deadlines and little supervision or direction – must be self-motivated and eager to engage. Strong verbal and written communication, risk and financial analysis, problem solving, and decision making skills. Strong sense of accountability and ownership with a strong work ethic. Ability to digest and synthesize disparate data and prioritize and drive results. Bachelor’s degree required. Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm’s reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
