DuPont has a current opportunity for an R&D Technician at our Newark-Bellevue, Delaware facility.

The R&D Technician works as an active team member in an empowered team, applying knowledge and skills required to monitor and maintain a safe and reliable operation of lathes and grinder in CMPT Pad R&D Operations. The primary role of the successful candidate will be to operate the lathe on the M5 process. The position must be flexible with changing job roles within Pad R&D Operations.

Your key responsibilities:

+ Operating two rotating lathes that are associated with the M5 process. Uses process knowledge and skills to create, modify and improve operating discipline procedures and practices to improve lathe performance.

+ Problem solving ability:Resolve problems on lathes that prevents them from achieving the desired run rates.Includes:

+ Maintenance and repairs of operating equipment

+ Starting and stopping of malfunctioning equipment

+ Recognize process, safety, and equipment abnormalities

+ Ability to take independent corrective actions to rectify

+ Recognize unsafe situations and take appropriate actions to correct

+ Ability to carry out quality test and document the results appropriately

+ Compliance assurance:

+ Stay fully aware of work being performed Ensure compliance to EH&S practices. (cGMP, ISO, as appropriate)

+ Review all work practices to assure total compliance:Intervene as needed

+ Review all tags and permits to assure compliance

+ Complete assigned audits

+ Perform resolve myself tasks within the scope of skills and knowledge (utilize competitive work practice skills)

+ Assist in training of operations personnel

+ Team work:

+ Work to improve team effectiveness Apply conflict resolution skills.

+ Perform immediate response activities:

+ Activities assigned by Immediate Response Leader

+ Utilize Six Sigma methodology in daily work.


Your qualification profile:

+ High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent

+ Minimum 3 years production work experience

+ Knowledge of Six Sigma methodology, preferred
