General Summary

The Clinical Coordinator is a member of the nursing management team who assists the nurse manager with the daily operations of the nursing unit/department on a 24 hour basis. The Clinical Coordinator provides direct supervision of staff and rotates weekend, holiday and shifts as needed to ensure management presence and visibility according to departmental needs. The Clinical Coordinator participates in employee selection and evaluation, in scheduling and staffing, and in the development and adherence to clinical and budgetary standards. The Clinical Coordinator provides leadership to unit based work groups ie unit committees. The role also requires providing and coordinating direct patient care.

Essential Functions & Accountabilities

1. Demonstrates the ability to identify individualized, expected outcomes for the patient which includes developing a plan of care that prescribes specific intervention to achieve optimal outcomes for patients

2. Demonstrates the ability to reflect knowledge of current professional practice standards, laws and regulations; including but not limited to ANA code of ethics and Bill of Rights

3. Ensures continuous quality improvement and addresses performance improvements

+ Executes direct supervision of clinical staff to ensure management presence and visibility on unit 24/7.

+ Demonstrates a standard of excellence which includes practicing nursing with core values of compassion, accountability, respect, teamwork, and integrity

+ All other duties as assigned within the scope and range of job responsibilities

Minimum Education and Experience

Minimum

BSN

MSN

Experience:

One year in area of related practice

Three years of related practice

Computer/Software Knowledge:

Basic Computer literacy

Licensure/Certification

Current DE RN license/ or compact state

Must obtain certification in specialty within 1 year of date of hire

BLS required.

Certification in specialty
