Position Objectives

The Global Vendor Operations & IT Budget Lead for Corteva will work with the IT Leadership Team (ITLT) to define and build the IT Vendor strategy as well as to support annual financial planning, and operational management of the total IT spend. This role will work closely with IT leadership, Finance, Procurement and Legal to ensure IT spend is closely monitored and our vendor portfolio is well managed – both to deliver the most value to Corteva.

In this role, you will contribute to Corteva’s mission by driving performance and optimization of global strategic vendor services to meet established corporate priorities and provide fiscal oversight to IT spend around the world. A typical day will include:

+ Develop and set the strategic direction for global IT vendor management operations and champion the execution. Lead, manage and monitor strategic vendors toward mutual effective, cost-minded, technical efficiency and innovate partnerships.

+ Drive performance and operational excellence of vendor services to meet established corporate priorities and to drive alignment with the IT vision.

+ Lead the design of vendor performance metrics for strategic and core vendors and oversee that vendor driven or supported implementations throughout the global IT organization are efficient and effective.

+ Maintain detailed knowledge of the IT budget allocation by vendor and area; ensuring purchases are aligned to budget, forecasts are updated appropriately; and goods and services received, and invoices processed in a timely manner.

+ Own the annual planning processand manage spend to adhere to corporate objectives.

Position Accountabilities

+ Operational ownership of both Operational and Capital Expense spend; partnering with Finance to capture actuals and provide accurate forecasting.

+ Manage the annual planning process with input from the ITLT.

+ Deliver monthly dashboards indicating overall health of budget and spend to plan.

+ Update the budget model as requested to account for significant changes in the business environment

+ Maintain and update the budgeting policies as needed

+ Inform managers of due dates for the submission of forecast and budget information

+ Act as an advisor to managers in formulating their forecast/budget submissions

+ Review proposed budget submissions from department managers for accuracy and completeness

+ Set strategic direction for vendor management operations aligned with the technology strategy and build a roadmap for end-to-end technology vendor management including associated tools, processes and governance working with our Corteva Procurement team.

+ Work at the leadership level to Influence and drive smart vendor operation practices that are outcomes based across global IT.

+ Liaisonwith Procurementto build core capabilities focused on vendor segmentation, categorization, contract renewals and spend analysis resulting in action plans to streamline processes and control overall vendor costs for the short and long term.

+ Lead a small team of employees and contractors in the Business-as-Usual processing of IT purchase requisition, PO tracking, alignment with budget, and receipt of goods.

+ Support career and skills development for direct reports providing consistent and actionable feedback on a regular basis

+ Advocate for open communication across the strategic vendor partner(s) by representing the voice of the customer to the vendor partner(s) and by representing the voice of the provider to IT with an emphasis and focus on optimizing functional relationships and operational performance

+ Lead the role and responsibility definitions and build sustainable partnerships with Procurement, Legal, Enterprise Risk Management and the rest of technology. Lead the development of a strategic framework for governance processes to optimize the partnerships

+ Develop and implement governance and performance management functions across all capabilities (i.e. driving/tracking metrics, vendor performance management, etc.)

+ Develop a consolidated IT financial plan regarding vendor management operations, as well as monitor the execution of the department against financial plans.

Qualifications

Education, Behavioral Competencies and Skills

+ Bachelor’s degree required

+ 10 years of experience in mid-to-large corporate environment

+ 5+ years’ experience managing Opex and Capex planning and spend

+ 5+ years driving end-to-end vendor management operations capabilities

+ IT Industry knowledge

+ 3+ years’ experience managing colleagues and contractors; setting objectives and expectations, providing feedback and support

+ Innovative problem solver and strategic thinker, with strong business acumen and analytical capabilities.

+ Strong leadership skills; collaborative partner with experience influencing and driving accountability across organizational and domain boundaries

+ Solid knowledge of financial systems / processes / tools, with expertise in project management principles & techniques

+ Excellent interpersonal and presentation / communication skills
