Job Title – CAREER TRANSITION SPECIALIST – - – -
Position Summary – Reports to the director of OA/CTS Project. Responsible for providing placement and support services for graduate students for 12 months after separation, conduct follow-up services for 12 months after initial placement has been approved and accurately document all services provided in the web based system, in compliance with government and management directives. * Essential Functions ** •Maintain linkages with DOL, national, state, and local agencies and employers to provide career delivery services leading to long term employment. •Identify potential jobs, schools, military or other training program placements for terminating students. •Directly place students to meet DOL and center contract goals; verify and document all placements in compliance with the PRH; provide quarterly projections. •Monitor the employability development of students. •Coordinate and maintain communications with center pertaining to student placement. •Participate in center industry advisory council. •Participate in activities supporting north eastern region centers and regional office efforts as requested. •Participate in the development of new and revised policies and procedures affecting career development. •Prepare weekly reports of career transition activities; copy director, OA/CTS. •Assess support services needed for each student; initiate community referrals to obtain needed services. •Assist student with resume development, interviewing skills, and effective search strategies. •Establish work-based learning (WBL) sites in students’ home communities; communicate with center business & community liaison (BCL). •Identify resources including housing, transportation, child care, health care, and other services to support students’ transition from center; develop and maintains support service reference manual. •Support and promote zero tolerance policies. •participate in student employability programs and activities. •Promote the development of Career Success Standards by modeling appropriate behaviors, mentoring students when necessary and monitoring both positive and negative behaviors through interventions. •Maintain accountability of students and property; adhere to safety practices. **** Management & Training Corporation is an Equal Opportunity Employer: Minority/Female/Disability/Veteran
