In the past year, analysts in similar roles used knowledge from a myriad of marketing touchpoints and customer transactions to create new checking opportunities for tens of millions of underserved clients and drove usage of our new, ultra-responsive digital banking solutions among our 38 million users. Our success from these efforts happened because our analysts’ great work showed top decision makers which big investments would best serve and delight our clients.

The open position supports our Deposit & Digital Banking marketing teams, with a focus on driving growth in checking/savings as well as digital usage. Using experimental design and advanced analytics, the analyst will assess marketing tactics in these areas in order to reveal opportunities, manage spending, streamline processes, and continually refine our ability to explain marketing performance for executive-level action.

This is a vital role, so we seek only exceptionally creative, ambitious, “data curious” thinkers. People who can:

+ Mine diverse data sources to understand customer behaviors and responses to marketing

+ Recognize the stories in the data and tell them in ways that illuminate which customers are likely to do what next

+ Create self-serve tools to put real-time information in the hands of decision-makers

+ Develop a deep understanding of the business and the data to proactively solve unknown problems and answer unasked questions

+ Ask not just “What can we do with this new data?” but “Is it right for our customers and our business?”

+ Leverage curiosity to find new ways to improve marketing performance

+ Build relationships with key internal partners and share data-driven insights to gain consensus on how to bring marketing improvements to life

Primary Responsibilities:

+ Design and evaluate tests of differing marketing treatments and report the findings

+ Analyze spend and profitability of marketing initiatives and make recommendations for improvement

+ Conduct targeting analyses to identify best marketing opportunities for digital banking apps and features

+ Identify efficiencies in recurring analytic processes

+ Profile key customer response attributes and behavior patterns across multiple initiatives

+ Relationship management and stakeholder communication

+ Partner with other analytics teams to integrate valuation and channel insights into an overall perspective on marketing effectiveness

Qualifications/Desired Skills:

+ 1+ years hands-on analytics experience with ability to use SAS, SQL, R and/or Python to find and deliver data from various relational databases and platforms

+ Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to summarize and interpret large amounts of data and translate findings into insights that are meaningful across Marketing and lines of business

+ Experience developing and facilitating presentations using tools such as PowerPoint

+ Experience in creating and analyzing Designs of Experiment

+ Ability to work with both structured and unstructured data, and leverage statistical/ machine learning methods to analyze and mine large datasets and quickly identify insights

+ Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, including organizing and prioritizing work to meet tight deadlines

+ Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s Degree preferred with background or equivalent experience in Finance, Mathematics/Statistics, Economics or Computer Science

+ Desired – facility with Business Intelligence tools (e.g. Tableau)
