Job Description

Kforce has a client one of the world’s largest financial institutions is building a team of Python Developers to support various groups with the organization in roles that support reporting, frontend development, application support and/or DevOps in Wilmington, Delaware (DE).Responsibilities:

  • As a Python Developer, you will work closely with the business teams to design and build technology solutions. In this role, you will create logical designs, translate logical designs into systems artifacts recognize alternatives and propose choices, develop high-quality software and mentor junior members of the team
  • Adopt industry leading technologies to support best-in-class business capabilities for high performance computing
  • Drive innovation across the firm’s corporate technology portfolio, increasing efficiencies through process automation, and Agile application development with an emphasis on user experience and shorter development cycles
  • Work closely with Business Analysts, quantitative research team, and business users to interpret the requirements and evaluate alternative solutions
  • Create technical design recommendations for developing and integrating programs per written specifications
  • Perform unit testing and system integration testing of the newly developed functionality
  • Help set development standards in areas of best practices, code quality, test coverage, monitoring, logging, exception management, and others
  • Conduct code reviews on components and applications to ensure adherence to the development standards and best practices
  • Collaborate and build relationships with other development teams, operate and operations partners, and business clients
  • 3 years of application development experience
  • Experience developing Web front ends using JavaScript, Typescript, CSS, React and other frameworks is a plus
  • Experience creating scripts Shell/Perl/etc. is a plus
  • Experience with Anaconda hosting, Jupiter and PhosphorJS is a big plus
  • Experience with LINIX, parallel computing and computationally expensive algorithms
  • Experience working with globally distributed teams
  • Excellent knowledge of Python
  • Familiarity with Python extensions for distributed and scientific computing – numpy, pandas, etc.
  • Knowledge of version control practices and procedures
  • Must be passionate about delivering high-quality software that meets project requirements
  • Strong analytical/problem solving skills- the ability to think out of the box to provide creative solutions to technology challenges
  • Strong grasp of modern software development processes and continuous everything
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Understanding of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2. 0) and assistive technologies (JAWS, NVDA, Zoomtext), and proven track record of incorporating into your day-to-day work, is a plus but not required
