AVP – Credit Strategy Lead
Wilmington, DE

The role will be responsible for driving continuous improvement in the evaluation and mitigation of risk while building resilient growth within the BCUS portfolio. A successful candidate will be responsible for mitigating Transaction Level Risk, Account Level Risk, or both, while pursuing strategies that increase overall profits for the bank.

What will you be doing?
•Develop and recommend strategy changes to wider business leads in exposure management – high credit risk universe, credit line decrease, judgmental lending review, inactive and high credit risk closures, and reissue.
•Formulate and conduct extensive analytical and profitability deep dive exercises in order to improve existing business strategies and policies.
•Analyze and Optimize transaction level risks from authorizations and payments, balancing customer experience with risk mitigation.
•As the strategy owners, you lead the work in Senior Leadership Business Meetings and work with functional teams such as Risk, Legal, Compliance, Technology Operations
•Develop and mentor team spread out across time zones
•Ensure compliance of policies and procedures on both existing and new strategies.

What we’re looking for:
•4-year college degree required; quantitative disciplines preferred; master’s degree preferred
•5 years of analytical experience in financial services industry; credit card experience preferred
•2 years of experience creating credit strategies using SAS/SQL or other relevant statistical tools

Skills that will help you in the role:
•Strong analytical, technical and statistical skills with proven ability to process vast amounts of data into meaningful information.
•Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.
•Computer literacy / proficiency in data query tools such as SAS, SQL, Oracle, UNIX and MS office
