Job Description

WM.H. Radford Landscape Contractors, Ltd., located at 525 Black Diamond Road, Smyrna, DE 19977 is looking for 8 landscape laborers to perform temporary and full-time job duties as follows: Landscape work to include but not limited to: Plant, prune, mow and edge lawns and landscape materials using mowers, trimmers/edgers and other hand/power tools. Pull weeds/clear leaves/debris w/blowers. Install lawns (sod), silt fences, paver walkways and irrigation systems and other related landscaping activities as per SOC/OES 37-3011. Winter service as needed. Must be able to lift/carry 50 lbs and work in both bending and standing positions for extended periods and in all types of weather including extreme heat and cold. Random drug testing.

Job is located in Smyrna, Delaware. Light travel, employer provides transportation from workplace to/from all job sites. Job sites may include Kent, Sussex and New Castle counties.

Start-End dates: 04/01/2020-12/31/2020.

Work hours: 35 hrs/wk. 7AM-6PM. Work week is Monday-Sunday. Weekend work is required as needed.

No education or training required. 3 months commercial/residential landscape labor experience required. On-the-job training will be provided.

Transportation (including meals and, to the extent necessary, lodging) to the place of employment will be provided, or its cost to workers reimbursed, by check separate from payroll, if the worker completes half the employment period. Return transportation will be provided if the worker completes the employment period or is dismissed early by the employer. In other words, if the worker completes 50% of the work contract period, employer will reimburse the worker for transportation and subsistence from the place of recruitment to the place of work by check separate from payroll.

Upon completion of the work contract period, or where the employee is dismissed earlier, the employer will provide or pay for the worker’s reasonable cost of return transportation and subsistence back home or the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer.

The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distances involved. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of $12.46 per day during travel to a maximum of $55.00 per day with receipts.

The employer guarantees to offer work for hours equal to at least three-fourths of the workdays in each 12-week period of the total employment period.

H-2B workers will be reimbursed in the first work week all visa, visa processing, border crossing, and other related fees, including those mandated by the government (excluding passport fees).

The employer will provide workers at no charge all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the job.

Salary: $14.32/hr + DOE. OT possible at $21.48/hr + DOE. Single workweek will be used to compute wages due. Workers will be paid every two weeks by check. All deductions from the worker’s paycheck required by law will be made.
