Senior Improvement Engineer (Job Number: 207798W-01)


DuPont has an exciting and challenging opportunity for a Senior Improvement Engineer in the
Electronics & Imaging business / CMP Technology site located in Newark, DE . We are opening this
position to support our current and next generation technologies. This position
will report to the CMP Engineering Science Improvement Engineering Leader.

The Improvement Engineer provides
process engineering support to manufacturing through in-depth understanding of
the technology using good manufacturing and engineering principals. The
Improvement Engineer identifies and applies Most Effective Technology at the
plant level in order to improve quality, process safety, and processes

The role also requires essential
data analysis capability or problem-solving, process troubleshooting, and root
cause analysis. Successful candidates will have good interpersonal
skills, be proficient at statistical analysis, proficient in Chemical and
Mechanical Engineering basics, understand process control systems, and have
experience in manufacturing processes.

Primary Responsibilities:

The Improvement Engineer will:

+ Drive the reduction of process variability and waste toimprove product quality and yield

+ Align Most Effective Technology at multiple globalsites through our Global Technical Coordination work process

+ Lead improvement efforts to increase process capacityand reliability

+ Champion compliance with Process Safety Management(PSM) requirements

+ Develop improved process measurement and controlstrategies

+ Provide technical support for capital projects; provideproject leadership for small capital projects

+ Mentor engineers, operators, and mechanics

Tactical Work Expectations:

+ Partners with global engineering partners to identifytechnology gaps, improvement opportunities, and project definitions

+ Validates improvement opportunities using global toolsand assists in building the Plant Specific Technology Plan

+ Implements improvement projects in quality, processsafety, and processes efficiency

+ Coaches plant personnel on Most Effective Technology

+ Identifies key measures using plant performance dataanalysis

+ Provides technical plant support in specialized areasincluding process simulation, modeling, risk analysis, and processoptimization

Demonstrated abilities:

+ Self-initiative, a motivated self-starter than can workindependently

+ Ability to champion change in a manufacturingenvironment

+ Data driven decision making; root cause failureanalysis

+ Strong communication skills, both written and oral

+ Ability to handle multiple tasks and a high volumeworkload with shifting and competing responsibilities

+ Demonstrated project management skills

+ Demonstrated strong teamwork and networking skills



+ A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in MechanicalEngineering or Chemical Engineering is required.

+ A minimum of 7 years of manufacturing and projectengineering experience is required.

+ A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position isthe ability to work legally in the United States. No visasponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any typeof U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.


+ Six Sigma Green Belt Certification is preferred.

+ SPC (Statistical Process Control): Hands-on experiencewith SPC tools is preferred.

+ Application of Process Safety Management (PSM)requirements.

+ Process equipment specification experience.

+ Mechanical design skills; Computer aided designexperience.

+ Experience leading projects leveraging multipleengineering principles (mechanical, chemical, etc.)

+ CMP specific knowledge on products and end useperformance.

+ Experience with SAS-JMP and CamLine-SPaCe SPC softwareapplications.

+ Demonstrated knowledge of database fundamentals.

+ Cost / benefit analysis experience.

+ Web handling experience is a plus.
