Conduct nutrition, food safety, and budgeting education as described by the Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program. Work primarily with low income mothers in their homes or in group setting. Eligible youth in after school programs. This position is funded by a Federal grant and therefore contingent upon availability of funds.
Duties: Recruit adults and youth who meet program guidelines. Use research-based, DSU approved educational materials to instruct youth and adults. Ability to work with diverse audiences. Track program data. Identify community partnerships for referrals. Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
Flexibility to work evenings and weekends. Preform other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge skills and abilities:
Comply with EEO mandates of Delaware State University and USDA. Computer skills – Microsoft office programs Word, Power Point, Excel Webneers etc.
Ability to communicate effectively with adults and children. Organized, with the ability to write reports. Ability to work independently. Demonstrate enthusiasm for the job at all times. Possess reliable transportation and valid drivers license are essential.
Motivated to preform related assignment on demand.
Successful experience working with groups: both youth and adult education. Submit to criminal background check and provide 3 references.
