Job Description

JPMorgan Chase & Co. seeks a DevOps Engineer in Newark, Delaware.

Job Duties: Work collaboratively with development and quality assurance team to build and maintain deployment process and help resolve issues through environment testing as part of SDLC. Help design and implement enterprise infrastructures and application landscape. Own all application environments. Setup and aligning platform requirements. Setup automated deployments and system configuration. Maintain the environments, such as set up, installation, connectivity, databases, configuration, user access requests, availability, database refreshing and storage forecasting. Liaise with DBA’s, Linux SA’s and AD teams to resolve any environment issue during or after release. Deliver the actual code deployments followed by simple smoke tests to ensure deployment completion. Escalate issues when they arise to the relevant teams to resolve any breakdowns in the process. Send issues to the correct owners. Maintain the environment integrity. Perform regular checks of system components for errors and application of necessary corrective action. Coordinate Third Party Derivatives, DCPP & STS Test Demand and manage environment allocation. Monitor test issues (UAT). Track, audit, and monitoring releases within the test environments working with development teams. Troubleshoot diverse sets of hosting technologies. Plan and coordinate Dress Rehearsals and Releases into Production, developing the implementation scripts. Perform ITSM tracking and reporting. Pre, Post & DR (disaster recovery) incident tracking and reporting.

Job Requirements: This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field of study plus five (5) years of experience in the position offered or five (5) years of experience as a Software Engineer or a related occupation. Alternatively, will accept a Master’s degree and three (3) years of experience. This position requires three (3) years of experience with the following skills: Enterprise Message Technologies like IBM MQ and QPID, Oracle RDMS, or Linux; Automation release management; JIRAs and HP ALM for project management; and IT Service Management for production release management and RunBook creations. This position requires one (1) year of experience with the following skills: setup and installation for Tomcat, WebLogic, and WebSphere application servers; Network/Load Balancers setup and configurations; Incident Management; Programming languages: Python, C#, .NET, Java, Shell Scripts, and PL/SQL; Source Management Control using GIT, SVN, and BitBucket; and WebServices and Security Technologies like SSL.
