The clean and prep department receives, shucks (mechanically), inspects, processes and packs clams and clam meat.
- Must be able to work a variable schedule, Monday through Saturday, based on production requirements. Prolonged standing in cold or warm environments.
- Must wear all applicable Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and comply with workplace safety rules.
- Must comply with and follow all applicable Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
Duties can include, but not limited to:
-Inspect pre-shucked or mechanically shucked clams on a production line for defects and foreign materials.
-Perform housekeeping tasks (floor wash downs, product shoveling, salt tank refill) as required by production type and plant standards.
-Weigh and load product for storage or shipment.
-Perform checks and counts as required by quality standards. (Must be able to read, write and perform basic math).
