Installs, configures, supports, and administers Tomcat, WebSphere Application Server, WebSphere MQ, IIB and Apache Web Server systems on AIX and Windows environments
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
+ Responsible for installation, service delivery and administration of Application and Middleware Software.
+ Participates in development, maintains, evaluates and documents administration of systems tools and related strategies.
+ Responsible for system level programming scripting on an adhoc basis.
+ Performs configuration, integration, maintenance, performance management, security management, failure analysis and recovery, and user support.
+ Responsibility for strategic technical development of the environments.
+ Assist in developing architectural standards and ensure they are upheld.
+ Provide technical leadership within the team and other infrastructure areas.
+ Excellent communication & project management skills.
+ Lead and develop operational metrics and procedures.
+ Maintain back up and disaster recovery strategies.
+ Develop, maintain and execute security model for the environments including SSL
+ Monitors, optimizes, and reports on performance and stability of web applications and components utilizing both vendor-supplied and third party tools.
+ Assist with procedures for the deployment of code, HTML, and image revisions in accordance with corporate Change Management practices.
+ Plans and implements the installation of fixes, and upgrades as required.
+ Provides off-hours support as needed.
+ 5 plus years of experience in the administration and support of Tomcat or IBM WebSphere production systems in a business environment or equivalent.
+ Knowledge of Tomcat or WebSphere internals and interpretation of log files.
+ Ability to analyze and resolve performance issues.
+ Strong understanding of internet and networking concepts and practices.
+ Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and troubleshooting techniques.
+ Proven experience in developing Unix scripts
+ Demonstrated expertise in system landscape design and implementation.
+ Able to support production applications 24/7.
+ Prefer Unix/Linux background, but Windows background fine as well as long as there is some kind of familiarity with Unix.
+ Understand Project Management concepts and System Development Life Cycle.
+ WebSphere MQ experience a plus
+ Strong oral and written communications skills.
+ A 4-year degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
