Job Description

The PNC Financial Services Group, Inc. seeks a Portfolio Analytics and Strategy Specialist I in Wilmington, DE to participate in the Acquisition Analytics team supporting strategy initiatives and execution. Specific duties include: (i) provide analytics for credit card acquisition investment decisioning and optimization to grow credit card accounts, improve risk adjusted return and identify opportunities to improve strategies and processes through sound data-based analyses; (ii) develop initiatives utilizing segmentation strategies based on customer behavior and profile analysis; build comprehensive tracking report to monitor new initiative performance; (iii) conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis and deliver presentations with sound recommendations and insights to business partners and management team; (iv) conduct research projects relating to customers and portfolio, including project design, data collection, analysis, summary of finding and presentation of results; (v) assess strategy P&L to establish appropriate profit and loss trade-offs and maximize business benefits by analyzing impact on revenue, spending and risk; (vi) design and implement tests of offers and targeting strategies; and (vii) evaluate test results with sound statistical methodologies.

Master’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics or Business Administration plus 3 years of experience in a position conducting financial data analysis in or for the retail banking industry, including strategy performance monitoring, test result analysis, profit or loss projection, and statistical analysis is required. Must have experience with: (i) handling, manipulation and analysis of datasets, including data sorting, dedupping, sampling, merging multiple data files and summarizing data; (ii) writing and implementing SAS programs and macros for reporting, automation and data analysis for strategy performance monitoring; (iii) utilizing data query tools including SQL and SAS to manipulate and analyze credit bureau and other financial databases; (iv) statistical data analysis and statistical decision tree, including fitting statistical models to identify significant variables, and using decision trees to create segments; (v) forecasting credit card profit or loss with historical performance data; (vi) delivering complex data analytics in presentation to senior leadership, including group managers and business partners, as well as creating charts and graphs for discussion and presentation; and (vii) experience with SQL, UNIX, Teradata, SAS, advanced Excel (including creating pivot tables with summary data, and generating tables from a pivot table with certain filters based on business needs), and PowerPoint.
