Job Description

Operates plastic extrusion machines to make quality products for customers by performing the following duties.
Reads paperwork and understand Process Information.
Assists with the string-up of the line and quality checks required.
Signs in; observes quality and maintains product count extruded. Informs operator/lead or supervisor of the quality problem arisen.
Changes product winders, trim winders and set up cores and chunks.
Cuts cores needed, set up shears for sheets, procure and/or build pallets needed for stock or ship out of materials.
Drives forklift in a safe and knowledgeable manner.
Responsible for extruder maintenance cleanings and of area cleanliness.
Starts an extruder machine from scratch and strings the sheet through to the winders.
Does die, roll, and process adjustments/gauge changes.
Brings the product required to an acceptable quality, resolving any material finish problems or tolerance issues.
Responsible for extruder maintenance cleanings, cabinets and of area cleanliness.
Ability to start up or shut down any of the three (3) extrusion lines.
Determines any and all requirements of a product run.
Analyzes resin and equipment process problems and makes required adjustments.
Evaluates new resins and writes product analysis reports.
Completes die maintenance and cleaning and responsible for screen pack changeovers.
Recognizes mechanical faults, develops mechanical skills through repair of pumps, replacement of bearings, heater elements, and some winder upkeep.
