Pay Grade 015 (Minimum hourly rate $15.70/hr)

High School/GED

The Pre-Arrival Services Center (PASC) Scheduler schedules and pre-registers outpatient procedures for all modalities within the scope of the PASC. The Scheduler responds to provider and patient inquiries, communicates proper preparation instructions to patients, and collects demographical, medical, and financial information crucial to patient care and hospital reimbursement, while maintaining compliance with applicable regulatory requirements.

Minimum Education and Experience:




High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent certification

Associates degree in healthcare or business,


6 months experience in a clerical healthcare setting.

One year experience as a medical technician.

Computer/Software Knowledge:

Basic MS office and computer skills. Keyboarding 30wpm.

Experience with a hospital information system.



Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA) certification through the National Association of Healthcare Access Management (NAHAM), Hospital RIS, PHS, Compliance Advisor program and Med Web program, or other healthcare revenue cycle-related certification from a nationally recognized professional organization.

Special Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities:

+ Ability to type 30 wpm

+ Knowledge of medical terminology.

+ Superior verbal and written communication skills required.

+ Basic knowledge of outpatient diagnostic, screening, and routine procedures and services and relevant pre-procedure preparations.

+ Health insurance knowledge, ICD-10 diagnosis coding

+ Must be able to multi-task

+ Must present themselves professionally at all times

+ Must be proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English
