Overview of Job Function:
The Senior Data Engineer (the “Engineer”) will design and build scalable data processing and AI pipelines for our Big Data and AI Platform. The Engineer will be responsible for processing billions of events from marquee customers in real-time for generating customer satisfaction analytics, AI based predictions, recommendations and engagement. Our platform is designed with cutting edge technologies and the Engineer will work with Cassandra, Oracle, Neo4J, Druid, Spark, Kafka and Mesos amongst others.
+ Build various data stores to handle high volume real-time and batch processing pipelines for analytics and AI;
+ Performance tune and scale Oracle and Neo4j databases in bigdata system;
+ Evaluate new technologies in rational and no-SQL data stores;
+ Serve as a Subject Matter Expert and mentor for junior staff members.Minimum Requirements:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science;
+ At least 5 years relevant working experience managing large oracle RAC databases in version 11g and above, including DB upgrade, rolling patch, table partitioning, oracle query on json object;
+ At least 2 years relevant experience on managing Neo4j or other graph databases, with deep understanding on graph DB migration, performance tuning, graph indexing methodologies, and query optimization etc.;
+ Highly skilled on developing oracle package / procedure with PL/SQL;
+ Familiarity with Cypher query language and proven ability to write software program with Cypher;
+ A passion for innovation and thinking “out of the box” but focused on delivering product on time;
+ Successful completion of the background check process, including but not limited to employment, education, criminal convictions, OFAC, SS Verification and credit, where available and in accordance with federal and local regulations.
Additional Preferred Requirements:
+ Ph.D. level knowledge of related areas – Statistics, Data Science, Marketing (quantitative), Econometrics, or Computer Science
+ Experiences of writing thesis and/or peer group review articles
+ Python or other script programming
