Area Manager I/ Area Manager II (Job Number: 206115W-01)


The Dupont Company
has an opportunity for an Area Manager who will serve as the Site Contract Administrator at the Experimental Station
Laboratory in Wilmington, DE. This site which is over 110 years old,
hosts research & operations for various Dupont businesses and third
parties. The site FS&RE team organized to support the site based on natural work teams aligned by business. The Area Manager will lead three work teams to ensure
robust commitment to core values and to manage day-to-day operations supporting
research, operations, and office environments. Each
of the natural work teams will drive continuous improvement of reliability, efficiency and cost
effectiveness of FS&RE services and building systems.

The Area Manager reports directly to the Site
Manager. This position manages 9 direct reports with
responsibility for Contract Administration, Building Management, Facility
Engineering, Communications, and support services. The area manager will work closely with Maintenance, Research Crafts, Capital project teams, EHS (Environmental, Health
and Safety) and Site Operations Teams.

Job Responsibilities

+ Lead natural work teams in promoting DuPont’sCore Values.

+ Maintain relationships with all site business andresearch leaders to ensure that their needs are met with focus on corevalues, research productivity and quality.

+ Be proactive in providing a comfortable andproductive work environment for the internal customers includingmaintaining proper indoor air quality, providing energy efficient systemsand providing reliable equipment.

+ Responsible for driving cost effectiveness as it relatesto the site operations budget and demand services.

+ Responsible for driving and developing astrategic 5-year capital infrastructure plan.

+ Maintain over 2.1MM rentable square feet ofbuildings and about 150 acres of land.

+ Lead 3 Facility Engineers, 3 Building Managers,and 3 Contract Administrators.

+ Provide Engineering support inmaintaining and improving the buildings.This includes troubleshooting problem areas and/or complaints,insuring compliance with all acceptable codes, regulations and safety,provide support for contractural and Building Automation Services.

+ Environmental Health Safety – Ensure the safetyof buildings through compliance with applicable codes standards, safetyaudits, address customer concerns and follow-up on 2 nd partyaudits.


Knowledge, Skills andAbilities:

+ Strongcommitment to DuPont core values and personal commitment to zero injuries,and incidents.

+ Strong Operations background preferred.

+ Six Sigma certification as a green belt or higher.

+ Bachelors or Master’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experienceis required

+ 5-10 years’ experience in unit operations, maintenance, engineering,and/or support functions is required.

+ Knowledge of PSM and high hazard processes is preferred

+ Strong ability to communicate orally and in writing to all levels ofthe organization and to all size groups.

+ Skilled in support systems such as SAP, Six Sigma, PowerPoint,Excel, Word, Outlook, SharePoint is required.

+ Strong interpersonalrelationship skills, influence and negotiating skills, and capable to workeffectively in a team environment with people at all jobs levels that areculturally diverse.

+ The ability tounderstand business objectives, lead people, manage multiple jobssimultaneously, organize work, set priorities, and mentor others.

+ Demonstratedability to anticipate change and proactively develop creative solutions tocomplex issues.

+ Basic knowledge ofequipment function and building systems and their impact on the researchoperations and facilities conducted in the building.

+ Demonstrated ability in driving improvements inreliability, mechanical integrity and quality assurance is preferred.
