Within the Global Commercial Digital Innovation (GCDI) Team, we focus on product/disease area strategy, experience design and development of innovative customer experiences. We are looking to recruit a Digital Medical Lead to be accountable for leading the development of digital medical strategies with the Global Medical Affairs (GMA) Team. This role will support the GMA Leadership with identifying and prioritizing key areas of medical affairs that can be delivered through innovative and engaging digital strategies.

The Medical Lead will have a strong digital background and understands the evolving digital landscape (technology, devices etc), have an in-depth understanding of the science behind our medicines and experience working across global teams, demonstrating strong leadership and communication skills.

The Medical Lead will be the driving force for rapidly exploring ideas in areas such as disease awareness and disease education etc to drive breakthrough solutions that are scalable using repeatable methodology. They will be accountable for prioritizing these with the GMA LT and working with the GCDI Team to deliver.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Identifies and understands trends in digital ecosystem and customer experience technology so to contribute to the development of innovative solutions designed to support Global Medical Affairs strategic plans.

+ Leads the introduction and incorporation of digital standards and emerging best practices into Global Medical Affairs strategies and partners with Medical Leaders to advance the digital roadmap

+ Identifies and builds relationships across the teams supporting GMA (GCDI, corporate affairs, regulatory and legal).

+ Works with the GCDI capability leads and the GMA teams to steer the development of effective innovative content to be used across the spectrum of digital technology, tools, devices and touchpoints in support of AZ’s goals.

+ Secures endorsement and sponsorship and collaborates with the GCDI Market Engagement Team to scale programs and align on target market deployment.

+ Identifies potential new GCDI capabilities to support the expansion and impact of digital technology and supports colleagues to fully incorporate them into their roadmap.

+ Define clear metrics and measurement frameworks to communicate overall adoption of and satisfaction with GCDI services.

Essential Requirements:

+ Bachelor’s Degree

+ Solid leadership experience in pharmaceutical, healthcare, consulting and/or advertising industries

+ Exceptional strategic thinking, judgement and executive influencing skills

+ Demonstrated experience defining digital strategies to serve the needs of patients, caregivers and/or healthcare providers that provide business impact

+ Understanding of agile methodology and has experience of applying design thinking to creative problem solving

+ Clear understanding of the external landscape and critical trends in consumer and enterprise digital health and wellness technologies impacting AstraZeneca

+ Oral and written fluency in Business English

+ Program management understanding and practice

+ Experience in business cases development through strategic insight and sound financial business acumen.

+ Demonstrated experience building trusted relationships with Sr. Leadership and other key stakeholders
