The Role:

The Lighting Designer is responsible for ensuring the success of live events by performing the technical aspects related to concert and theatrical lighting. Assist in all aspects of lighting production as well as assisting in other various aspects of event production when needed.

What You Need:


+ 3 years minimum Tour or Stage Production experience

+ Experience in stage lighting, pro audio systems, and basic video systems

+ Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously

+ Must possess superior interpersonal communication and organizational skills

+ High School Diploma

+ Ability to patch, program and operate multiple lighting console and control surface brands and models

+ Ability to set up and integrate touring lighting and lighting consoles/control within venue lighting systems

+ Knowledge and experience with ETC dimmers and control modules

+ Ability to troubleshoot and do minor repairs to conventional and intelligent lighting fixtures

+ Basic to advanced understanding of electricity and power management


+ College Degree

+ Proficiency in Vectorworks, AutoCAD, WYSIWYG (castsoft) or computer-assisted drawing software essential to truss planning/lighting

Physical Demands/Working Environment:

+ Must be able to lift 75lbs

+ Work in an environment with moderate to loud noise level and extreme lighting changes


What You’ll Do:

+ Provide world-class lighting for live events

+ Performs the load-in and load out of band equipment and rental equipment, when necessary

+ Set up and break down all lighting equipment necessary for the event production

+ Focus fixtures and make lighting adjustments appropriate to the needs of the event production

+ Maintain and repair lighting equipment

+ Accommodate artist/ event A/V requirements

+ Responsible for safe and consistent operation of lighting instruments and rigging tools/instruments

+ If necessary, assist the Production Manager with technical advance specific to lighting

+ Ensure proper care and handling of all venue and rental lighting equipment

+ Interact with visiting production crew to ensure a successful show by using strong interpersonal skills

+ Create/distribute/execute lighting plots, truss plans, and any relevant patching/rigging plots

+ Oversee and operate systems pertaining to lighting throughout the entire event

+ Ensure Special Events lighting needs are implemented and executed with the utmost professional attitude

+ Assist with Production throughout the house as needed

+ Hang, Focus, Patch, Program and Operate venue lighting instruments for live events in a safe, organized and professional manner

+ Operate various lighting consoles and fixtures that may be owned or rented for any given live event
