About this role
This is a newly created Vice President role on BlackRock’s Global Transfer Agency Services team based in Wilmington, Delaware. The successful candidate will be a motivated team player with a strong eye for detail, a thirst for learning and proven leadership and people management skills. The role is multi-functional and includes leadership of a team supporting daily operations and oversight of transfer agent functions and project work. The role also requires the successful candidate to build and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders across the organization, to understand and offer solutions to meet the business needs and to create and support an efficient and well controlled operations model for BlackRock’s domestic open end mutual funds, 2a-7 money market funds and collective trust funds.
+ Lead cross divisional team projects related to regulatory changes, new business requirements and automation efforts, from start to finish, to comply with changing regulations and to enhance existing product offerings and processes to provide a better end to end client experience
+ Maintain a robust control environment by proactively analyzing errors and issues to identify opportunities for process improvement at the transfer agents and/or BlackRock, and recommend and implement corrective action plans to prevent recurrence
+ Lead and support the team throughout the full lifecycle of product actions including launch, mandate changes and termination
+ Manage and develop staff supporting and overseeing transfer agent functions
+ Responsible for oversight of transfer agent activities to ensure compliance with contractual service levels including periodically auditing these controls
+ Transition functions to the Transfer Agency Services team from other functional teams and locations within Global Client Services, by obtaining a full understanding of the processes and training staff
+ Coordinate contract, service level and fee schedule updates
+ Perform annual on-site due diligence/health check visits of all transfer agents
+ Serve as a secondary resource for the team in support of including the review of language and data related to transfer agent operations in prospectuses and financial statements (annual/semi-annual) and other daily monitoring and reporting tasks
+ Other tasks and projects as assigned
+ 5-10 years, mutual fund operations experience in a transfer agency setting
+ Excellent communication and writing skills
+ Strong analytical skills with an ability to identify problems and develop solutions
+ Acute attention to detail, understanding of downstream processes and the ability to work proactively with others to escalate and resolve issues appropriately
+ Ability to develop strong collaborative working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
+ Proficient in Excel, Word and PowerPoint
+ Project experience a plus
+ Some travel may be required
