Job Description

U. S. Bank is seeking a LGBTQ Segment Strategy Manager. This role is part of our Multicultural Strategy Team. The Multicultural Strategy team works to create a culturally relevant unified customer experience. The LGBTQ Segment Strategy Manager creates bank wide business strategies and directs initiatives that will deliver a culturally relevant customer experience for the LGBTQ segment with a focus on acquisition and retention strategies in key geographies. The LGBTQ segment manager will achieve this objective by having a deep understanding of customer insights, financial industry trends, gathering market intelligence and leading cross-functional teams to develop solutions to improve in all key performance indicators (Frontline Talent alignment and retention, Customer Growth, Brand Relevance and Customer loyalty and satisfaction). This role is responsible for creating the long-term vision for the segment and develop growth business plans so to inform all key areas impacted by this effort. The LGBTQ segment manager is responsible for articulating risks, profitability and measuring the impact of initiatives and show proven experience using data to develop holistic companywide business strategies to address key growth goals and business challenges uncovered by data exploration.

Specific Responsibilities Include:

-Develop segment business cases and strategies, define opportunities and set goals

-Lead the long-term business strategy for the segment (including target markets, sub-segments), growth plans, acquisition and retention programs.

-Drive enterprise wide strategy aligning multiple centers of excellence and divisions creating the governance to ensure execution of key initiatives and activities necessary to reach 3-year plans and goals

-Conduct regular portfolio and KPI’s reviews to ensure that target goals are met and determine course correction as needed

-Lead strategic market reviews and synthesize competitive intelligence and analysis.

-Function as an expert on segment challenges, market trends and go-to-market.

-Lead deep dive on specific topics & other special projects relevant to segment

-Develop multi-year bank wide implementation plans and assure successful implementation, on time and within budget

-Lead cross functional teams and collaborate with business line advocates to achieve set results, develop and lead engagement and test pilots

-Direct segment level annual plans with key focus on alignment with enterprise priorities, track all progress and create segment dashboards

-Identify key strategic partnerships with community organizations and design programs that will tie to business growth goals, brand reputation and visibility in the community


Basic Qualifications

- Master’s degree, or equivalent work experience

- 10 or more years of experience in project management activities

Preferred Skills/Experience

-Solid experience with business strategy, consumer strategy, strategy or customer experience execution

-Ten (10) years of experience in a Manager level role in financial services, retail and/or package goods industry preferred

-Demonstrated success at building long-term strategies and implementation plans

-Proven track record developing and implementing innovative solutions to attract customers and build customer loyalty

-Experience in leading complex, cross-functional projects and teams

-Excellent communication and presentation skills

-Must be highly entrepreneurial, a self-starter, and possess strong leadership skills

-Experience with out-of-the-box and strategic thinking

-Demonstrable interpersonal, communication, analysis and presentation skills and ability to handle many competing priorities.

-Proven ability to work independently to deliver results in a fast-paced customer driven environment.

-Strong strategic thinking capabilities

-Strong experience interpreting data translating into meaningful executive ready action oriented growth cases and strategies

-Strong experience working cross-functionally in an organization

-Proven experience working with the LGBTQ segment
