The Barclays US Consumer Bank Customer Office is accountable to drive long term customer satisfaction, outstanding communications and sustainable financial returns from the existing customer portfolio of one of the fastest growing Banks in the US. We do this by using a risk/reward based approach to ensure we are optimally meeting customer needs across the full lifecycle, providing a frictionless experience, and developing and delivering excellent communications to prospective and existing customers.
The VP of Collection Management is accountable to develop and drive programs to support collections and recoveries efforts within Barclays US Consumer Bank, within full operational control and credit risk parameters.
What will you be doing?
•Strategy and Planning
•Partner with risk and operational teams to develop and agree strategy and approach for collections and recoveries management representing first line business needs.
•Accountable for the execution of the agreed plan, ensuring appropriate strategy review mechanisms are in place to monitor progress.
•Risk Management Framework (RMF)
•Ensure that an appropriate risk appetite and risk management framework underpins collections and recovery strategy and execution.
•Accountable for ensuring accurate, transparent and timely reporting on strategy, performance and risk profile is developed.
•Leadership and Execution:
•Evolve operating model with cross functional partners within BUSCB and other areas of Barclays.
•Work with cross functional team to develop KPIs and tracking, goal setting, and meeting cadence.
•Develop a strong Culture based on the Barclays Values as articulated in the Barclays Way and the tone from the top on how to “Live the Values”.
What we’re looking for:
•8-10 years’ experience with progressive levels of responsibility developing and executing customer facing programs, including experience in Collections in a lending business
•Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
•8-10 years’ experience with analytics and data and driving results and planning
Skills that will help you in the role:
•Graduate/undergraduate degree highly preferred
•Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams in a matrix environment across multiple geographies.
•Entrepreneurial – able to work with ambiguity, providing structure to unstructured situations.
•Operates well in a “roll up your sleeves” environment.
•Excellent verbal and written communications skills
