INTRODUCTION

The
Water Solutions business within DuPont Safety & Construction has an
exciting opportunity for a Research Scientist with experience and training in
Separations Science or related disciplines to join our team.

We
are seeking a well-qualified scientist to join a dynamic team that applies a
broad and deep understanding of materials, polymer science, and chemistry to
the critical and unaddressed filtration and separations needs of the
bioprocessing industry. Development targets range from those that
address our core market segments to those that represent transformational
advances in the dowstream bioprocessing market space.

THEROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

As
a Research Scientist, you will define, lead and execute technical programs
focused on creating new products and applications as well as establishing
fundamental understandings for the development of new bioseparations technology
platforms.

Yourkey responsibilities:

+ Define,lead, and execute product or application development programs.

+ Conductlab work and/or direct the work of one or more lab technicians.

+ Participatein cross-functional teams, including representatives from technical andnon-technical disciplines.

+ Manageintellectual property; understand relevant IP landscape and activelydevelop new IP.

+ Maintainawareness of end-user needs, industry trends, technologies and competitiveproducts.

+ Partnerwith external consultants, vendors, and other entities to efficientlyexecute programs, as needed.

+ Writetechnical reports and present results in a range of forums.

+ Becomean active member in the Technology Community within Safety &Construction and DuPont.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Your qualification profile:

+ Required: Ph.D. in Separations Science or related discipline from an accredited institution and at least 5 years of industrial experience in the field.

+ Required: Substantial background knowledge in the areas of bioseparations science, including filtration, chromatography and/or other downstream process technologies.

+ Preferred: Experience with membranes, devices, cartridges and filters used for bioprocessing separations.

+ Preferred: Solid understanding of structure-property relationships as applied to bioprocessing filtration and separations.

+ Experience at the post-doctoral level will be considered in addition to work experience beyond graduation/post-doc completion.
