Corporate Risk helps all Wells Fargo businesses identify and manage risk. The team focuses on several key risk types, including conduct, credit, financial crimes, information security, interest rate, liquidity, market, model, operational, regulatory compliance, reputation, strategic, and technology risk. The group provides leadership, enhances communications, assists with problem identification and solutions, and shares best practices. In addition, the group provides an enterprise-wide view of risk, assists management and our Board of Directors in identifying and monitoring risks that may affect multiple lines of business, and takes appropriate action when business activities exceed the risk tolerance of the company.

The Operational Risk Business Oversight team for Consumer Banking is responsible for the independent oversight of front line operational risk management effectiveness of the Consumer Banking group, which includes Home Lending, Customer Segments, Auto, and Regional Banking. Operational risk is the risk resulting from inadequate or failed internal controls and processes, people and systems, or resulting from external events. Operational risk is inherent in all Wells Fargo products and services as it often arises in the presence of other risk types.

The Role

The * Oversight Coordination Leader* for Consumer Banking is responsible for coordinating across the Operational Risk Business Oversight (ORBO) team for Consumer Banking to establish a sustainable and detailed Operational Risk credible challenge calendar for each group based on the Strategic Planning and Administration coordinator calendar; develop and sustain information sharing routines across the team and peer teams to support effective oversight; coordinate overall calendar for all routines and activities completed within the team; aligning resources across key Consumer Banking level forums and engagements; delivering consistent Consumer Banking level messaging, leveraging business level inputs.

  • Key responsibilities include:*
  • Partner with Strategic Planning and Administrator coordinator to understand their review, analysis and challenge of Operational Risk Program and/or policy enhancements for potential conflicts, alignment to other IRM activities, and share information with ORBO team to assess Front Line feasibility.
  • Develop and execute regular information sharing routines across ORBO team.
  • Develop and orchestrate a sustainable credible challenge calendar across Operational Risk annually.
  • Lead ORBO team to develop a calendar to orchestrate all routines and activities completed within the team.
  • Coordinate ORBO routines and engagements with Risk Type Teams and specialty Consumer Banking teams.
  • Operational Risk Business Oversight team – Consumer Banking.

Required Qualifications:

  • 12+ years of experience in compliance, operational risk management (includes audit, legal, credit risk, market risk, or the management of a process or business with accountability for compliance or operational risk), or a combination of both; or 12+ years of IT systems security, business process management or financial services industry experience, of which 6+ years must include direct experience in compliance, operational risk management, or a combination of both
