Job Description

This position is a supervisory position reporting to the Production and Maintenance Supervisor. This is an hourly position in which overtime is required. In addition to the listed responsibilities, there may be other responsibilities when required.

• Supervises plant operation for their respective shift
• Coordinates with previous and following shifts:
• Determines if any machine problems occurred on previous shift
• If production order is completed before shift ends, verifies which machine is to be started next
• Communicates with Quality Control throughout shift to assure production is satisfying customer/company requirements
• Starts up new and standard production
• Responds to machine alarms or operator buzzer codes as quickly as possible
• Samples molds
• Oversees directly or assist in mold change
• Creates and approves set up sheets
• Initiates and completes Manufacturing Conditions Check sheet (PD-27)
• Directly oversees through subordinates, that machines are running and work order pick lists are used for proper resin and/or concentrate mixing
• Verifies all needed supplies are available for the following shift; assures aerosols for cleaning and lubrication are available to machine operators
• Generates shop order for mold change and/or repair
• Assists General Manager in reviewing and approving time cards of production personnel
• Performs and/or coordinates and verifies the training of machine operators
• Customer promoter
• Monitors molding process on all presses
• Assists in trimming, de-gating, packaging, visually inspect, etc. on automatic presses
• Has authority to make ongoing machine adjustments within the parameters as needed. Adjustments are noted on the Set Up Sheet Change Log (PD-05). System Improvement Requests (SP-25a) are made for reoccurring adjustments found.
• Performs diagnostic evaluation on injection mold machines, molds, and support equipment
• Assigns operators to machines and secondary work using Production Schedule (MP-12) as delegated to the Assistant Process Technician. Ensures that production workers are at assigned work areas during their shift.
• Performs all tasks necessary to meet production schedule
• Establishes production process efficiency goals and implements continuous improvement
• Establishes baseline data for all processes as required and coordinates predictive maintenance with tool manager
• Responsible for safety and overall good housekeeping on shift
• Product quality and process innovation

-2+ years injection molding experience preferred
-basic computer skills
-High school degree or GED
