Directs and supervises the activities of Charge Capture Analyst and the charge master duties of the Reimbursement Analyst II. This position maintains the Epic Charge Description Master (CDM), ensuring all items and services are described, coded and priced appropriately and are representative of services provided. The Senior Charge Master Analyst tracks and audits third party reimbursements. This position also serves as the lead person in the preparation of the Medicare Cost Report for two hospitals for review by the Director of Reimbursement. In addition, this position is responsible for tracking and maintaining Medicare bad debt data and Medicaid eligible days.

Minimum Education and Experience:




Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business, Economics or Finance.



Two years of work experience in finance or patient accounting

Five years of experience in hospital Finance, in Cost Accounting, Reimbursement, or Patient Accounting.

Computer/Software Knowledge:

Proficient skills in Microsoft Word and Excel

Advanced skills in Microsoft Word and Excel and Epic CDM Certification.



Coding Certification

Special Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities:

· Knowledge of Medicare cost report regulations.

· Knowledge of CPT-4 and ICD-9 coding, medical terminology

· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

· Ability to research complex coding and regulatory requirements.

· Strong analytical skills.

· Must be proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English.
