Job Description:

Responsible for developing account takeover fraud detection strategies by performing more complex analysis and modeling with a focus on Consumer and Small Business Deposit or Credit Card account relationships. Uses multiple databases to acquire statistical, financial, transactional, and non-monetary event data to identify fraud patterns and activity for the creation of optimal fraud detection strategy rules. Utilizes portfolio trends to propose strategy/policy/procedural changes within assigned segmentation structure to produce optimal results as well as to provide updates for senior management. Excels at risk/reward trade off. Builds relationships with external agencies. Participatesin the rollout of company-wide pilot programs developed as a result of programmed models. Duties primarily include the regular use of discretion, independent judgment, the ability to communicate with multiple levels of management and the utilization of core leadership behaviors. Proficiency with SAS, SQL, and/or other statistical and analytical tools preferred; knowledge of fraud strategy management preferred; 2-5 years’ experience preferred.

Develops complex program models to extract data and uses multiple databases to acquire statistical and financial data. Utilizes portfolio trends to propose policy/procedural changes within segmentation structure to produce optimal results. Excels at risk/reward trade off. Build relationships with external agencies. Participates in the rollout of company-wide pilot programs developed as a result of programmed models. Duties primarily include the regular use of discretion, independent judgment, the ability to communicate with multiple levels of management and the utilization of core leadership behaviors. SAS and/or MicroStrategy experience preferred; 2-5 years experience preferred.

May be filled as an Analyst II or III depending on experience and skill set.

Job Description:

+ Responsible for establishing and maintaining account takeover fraud detection rules and strategies for Consumer and Small Business Deposit or Credit Card account relationships.

+ Defines the criteria to systematically impact customer transactions and to determine which accounts need to be alerted to the detection operations teams for review and customer contact.

+ Responds to suspicious activity across the enterprise by interdicting and/or alerting suspicious activity while balancing customer experience, fraud risk, operations capacity, and regulations.

+ Monitors incoming fraud claims and overdraft activity for trends.

+ Performs fraud strategy/rule definition, implementation, and performance monitoring.

+ Prepares regular management updates of strategy performance, trends, and key issues.

+ Performs data analysis of operations capacity, performance and alert prioritization.

+ Serves as expert with regards to assigned fraud detection systems in order to determine how to bestleverage the technology.

Required Skills and Experience:

+ 2+ years of proficiency with SAS and/or other statistical and analytical tools

+ 2+ years of proficiency with SQL, specifically the ability to write, interpret, and data mine the results of queries in large data environments i.e. SQL Server, Teradata,or similar enterprise database platforms

+ Analytical, logical reasoning, and problem solving skills

+ Intermediate level skills in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel

+ Strong intellectual curiosity and passion for innovation

+ Ability to communicate effectively and influence others to drive results

Desired Skills and Experience:

+ 2-5 years fraud strategy creation and/or management experience

+ Experience with Tableau or other BI reporting tools

+ Knowledge of SFM, Brainiac, and/or FLASH fraud detection systems

+ Knowledge of TSYS, ICDP credit card and processing systems

+ Knowledge of data platforms such as BACARDI, W, HULC/Hadoop, and/or FRPR

+ Experience in operational and fraud risk in Financial institutions

+ Knowledge of fraud schemes with a focus on account takeover fraud

+ Knowledge of money movement/funds transfer fraud schemes

+ Experience with deposit and/or credit card transaction processing

+ Ability to gather, arrange, process, and model data to support fraud detection strategy development

+ College degree in quantitative discipline, statistics, math, economics, or computer science

+ Six Sigma
