for a Laboratory Technician in our Pharmaceutical Applications Laboratory
located in Wilmington, DE.

THE ROLE &RESPONSIBILITIES

The
Laboratory Technician will provide a variety of complex technical support to
Lead AD&I Scientists and Laboratory Manager in the preparation and execution
of experimental activities: formulations preparation, characterization, and
testing under a range of process conditions. The incumbent will also act as
primary focal point for technical support of multiple processes, products, or
applications within the work group and internal/external customers. Technical
support may be for one or more of: product development, application
development, technical service, and product or process research. The person
filling this position will develop and implement technical solutions through
hands-on experimentation and problem-solving for research problems that are
well defined.

Yourkey responsibilities:

·
Prepares formulation samples with minimum supervision
using standard processing equipment such as high shear mixers, blenders,
compression machines etc.

·
Provides technical solutions in one or more of:
product development, application development, technical service, and process
research.

·
Independently evaluates formulation samples for
physical / mechanical properties and is proficient in the use of laboratory
instruments.

·
Coordinates equipment logbooks updating, maintenance
and calibration, equipment troubleshooting and computer system validation.

·
Responsible for maintaining lab supplies and storage
of test substances.

·
Responsible for lab housekeeping, consumables stock,
and waste disposal.

·
Reports, discusses and provides solutions for any
issues related to the lab equipment.

·
Maintains laboratory notebook and accurately documents
all experiments and results in a timely manner. Organizes
and prepares data tables and charts to present data collected in studies
supported. Often prepares summaries of work and results to be included in
internal or customer’s reports.

·
Understands the group objectives and the business or
group’s value creating strategy and is an important contributor to the
technical solutions that result in project and team success.

·
Understands the value of high quality data and
utilizes Good Laboratory Practices (or equivalent) to generate such data.

·
Defines and implements new testing methods for
development purposes. This may require creating unique configurations of
existing equipment or development/fabrication of new equipment and systems.

·
Actively
participate in work group team meetings to address safety, process improvement,
problem solving, and other work group, department, and functional topics. May
also participate in functional and/or business/customer teams relevant to
supported technologies.

·
Uses knowledge of the relevant technology consisting
of product, test method, and testing equipment to quickly screen alternative
approaches. Recommends and implements variations in approaches with little or
no supervision.

·
Proactively identifies improvement opportunities in
area of Environmental, health and safety (EH&S) and implements improved
EH&S practices and procedures.

Qualifications

Your qualification profile:

The following qualifications are required:

· High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent

· Minimum 2-years of general laboratory experience

The following qualifications are preferred:

· Associate’s degree or higher in Chemistry or similar technology related degree, preferred

· Relevant work experience in a Chemistry Laboratory, preferred

· Basic computer skills

This position is located in Wilmington, Delaware at the Experimental Station. The Experimental Station is DuPont’s largest research and development facility. Located on the banks of the Brandywine Creek in Wilmington, Delaware, it is home to some of the most important discoveries of the modern chemical industry.
