The Mechanic is responsible for the installation, maintenance and repair of all mechanical equipment and systems, to include chillers, cooling towers, medical air systems and related equipment. Performs preventative and predictive maintenance to ensure reliability of all systems and equipment. The Mechanic works independently or as a member of a team, and is required to make a number of competent decisions, some of which are complex in nature, to accomplish assigned tasks.

Requires High school diploma or GED equivalent, four (4) years experience in the operation, maintenance and repair of complex facilities and systems; advanced skills plumbing, electric, air conditioning/refrigeration, locksmith and/or allied maintenance trade. Due to insurance carrier requirements, all staff must be at least 21 years of age with a current Delaware class D driver’s license with no more than 3 moving violations or accidents in the past 3 years. Basic computer skills are required, and knowledge of proper use and care of the various tools to include but not limited to electrical multi-meter, hand and power tools needed to operate, maintain and repair hospital systems and components. Requires excellent communication and customer service skills.
