Job Description:

Negotiates agreements of mid-to high-level complexity and to achieve a measurable number of cost savings. A Sr. Procurement Specialist can identify and assess risk areas leveraging the expertise of appropriate support partners. Begins with a specific commodity or LOB and handles mid-to high-level complexity agreements with that LOB/commodity. Processes high volume assignments requiring strong organizational skills. He/she ensures that all the proper reviews and approvals (Legal, Risk, Finance, business and Global Procurement Leadership) are obtained.

Responsibilities Include:

Understanding contractual terms and conditions

Persuading vendors to accept Bank of America contract language

Developing RFP strategy documents for both competitive and non-competitive acquisitions and has strong proposal evaluation skills

Ability to manage multiple events concurrently

Vendor risk management and overall process compliance

Required Skills & Experience:

+ Experience in third party outsourcing or purchasing of goods and services including bidding (RFP/ RFI) and contracting

+ Understanding of financial analysis and the impacts / savings to be achieved in the procurement categories

+ Ability to understand the risk / rewards tradeoff in outsourcing and procurement

+ Experience managing multiple tasks simultaneously and to deadlines, including strong prioritization and time management skills

+ Strong problem solving skills; ability to analyze data and identify trends or probe for additional information

+ Ability to manage/diffuse conflict and confrontation

+ Proven ability to communicate, partner and influence across a matrix organization

+ Self-starter with strong analytical, organizational and project management skills

+ Ability to work well independently and in a team environment, effectively accept coaching from managers and independently complete tasks on-time

+ Strong desire to learn, positive attitude and flexible and creative in job execution

+ Proficient computer skills, including Excel, PowerPoint, WebEx, etc.

Desired Skills & Experience:

+ Bachelor’s degree (Supply Chain Management, Finance or Business Administration preferred)

+ Two or more years of relevant procurement experience

+ Prior financial services experience within public accounting, audit, compliance or finance

+ Experience with vendor management and/or procurement

+ Awareness of industry trends (regulatory, vendor management, supply chain, finance/banking, auditing, etc.)

+ Quickly builds relationships in order to deliver effective business partnering
