The Chemours Company headquartered in Wilmington, DE has an Internal Control Specialist position available in Wilmington, DE OR in Asturias, Spain This is a highly visible, key role within the Company and the Controllership function. This position will report to the Manager, Internal Controls and Compliance.
The responsibilities of the Internal Control Specialist position include, but are not limited to, the following:
·Consult with management and provide support in the design and implementation of new or enhanced processes, with the goal of strengthening controls, meeting business objectives and meeting corporate governance requirements
·Provide guidance to business partners in the creation and / or modification of required process documentation.
·Evaluate the existence, design, and operating effectiveness of processes and controls and/or working on special projects as requested by management. This includes, but not limited to, documenting control assessments programs; communicating exceptions resulting from the testing phase to the appropriate level of management for remediation; assist in developing remediation plans; coordinating, assisting, and reconfirming to ensure that exceptions are appropriately resolved
·Drive implementation of tools and processes used to maintain an efficient and effective global Sarbanes Oxley compliance program
·Advise process and control owners with remediation of identified control deficiencies
·Interact with all functions and departments including global controllership, Treasury, and business finance serving as a subject matter expert on internal control and other compliance matters.
·Work with internal and external auditors as directed
In order to be qualified for this role, you must possess the following:
• A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
• 3-5 years of internal or external audit experience
• Prior manufacturing industry experience
The following skill sets are preferred by the business unit:
• CPA or comparable certification
• “Big 4” experience
