Systems Engineer – Collaboration/Office 365

Wilmington, DE

CSC is looking for a Systems Engineer to join our Infrastructure Services organization supporting our on-premises/Office 365 hybrid environment over a multi-site/datacenter infrastructure. This role will also architect and implement changes to the on-premises and Office 365 environments for migration to Microsoft Teams. A successful candidate will be able to demonstrate deep technical skills, proficiency with the design, implementation, and support of Microsoft Skype for Business and Teams.

This position is on our Enterprise Engineering team which is part of the larger CSC Infrastructure Services department. The Enterprise Engineering team is responsible for supporting out Tier 0 applications such as Email (Exchange), Skype for Business, and Microsoft Office 365 services so strong collaboration (SFB/Teams/Office 365) experience is a must. This person will be responsible for performing high-level delivery and hands-on engineering with all of the latest Microsoft collaboration technologies, with ongoing responsibilities managing the governance of Office365 services.

Some of the things you will be doing:

+ Plan, design, and execute Office 365 implementations including migration from on-premises as well as tenant to tenant

+ Develop and manage Office 365 lifecycles for existing implementations

+ Prototyping, road-mapping, technical delivery and coordination with multiple stakeholders and peer technical groups through detailed documentation & presentations

+ Act as the technical lead on a project to migrate multiple on-premises Skype for Business environments to Microsoft Teams, developing and presenting a full implementation plan

+ Develop and maintain yearly roadmaps for Office 365 technologies

+ Identify improvements, create business cases, and conduct strategic planning exercises with senior stakeholders to develop roadmap and objectives, review current and proposed architecture to arrive at an agreed end-state solution

+ Monitor, resolve, and automate daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems, and key processes

+ Reviewing system and application logs and verifying completion of scheduled jobs

+ Perform technical writing of policies, procedures, and configuration of systems by authoring, updating, and maintaining all related documentation

+ Perform in-depth technical research and analyze results to recommend various technical approaches for solving complex and challenging technical and integration problems

+ Follow policies and procedures for change, problem, and incident management

+ Work with other engineering teams on global projects and interact with project managers

+ Proactively participate in P1 problem escalations and resolve desktop, server, and virtualization support issues

+ Participate in the 24×7 on-call rotation and planned maintenance activities after hours and on weekends when needed

What technical skills, experience, and qualifications do you need?

+ 3+ years experience architecting, deploying, and configuring Lync/Skype for Business audio, video, and telephony solutions as well as integration with Exchange/Office 365 Unified Messaging

+ Experience integrating Skype for Business with other unified communications systems (e.g. chat, media, video, voice)

+ Experience with Azure Active Directory and networking

+ Powershell scripting skills

+ Experience with voice and video integrations

+ VoiP, SIP, and SIP trunking (Centralized, Local)

+ Network Architecture and QoS (optimized for real-time voice/video)

+ Microsoft Exchange Unified Messaging experience

+ Experience preparing and delivering written and verbal reports and general communications to audiences of varying levels of seniority and technical ability

+ Experience collaborating and coordinating activities with stakeholders and infrastructure teams on upgrades, installations, and integrations

+ Strong knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, DHCP, DNS, and general Windows Server 2008/2012/2016 Infrastructure

+ Hypervisor experience with VMware vSphere ESX and Nutanix AHV

+ Experience integrating core infrastructure services related to company merger and acquisitions

+ Basic knowledge of scripting/automation in PowerShell for commonly used AzureAD and Active Directory functions

+ The ability to constantly adapt to fast-paced,e ver changing technology landscape

+ Exceptional customer service skills

+ Experience migrating to Micosoft Teams is a plus

+ Knowledge of automation tools and concepts is a plus
