Job Description:

This role provides key analysis and reporting support for all of the origination models within Home Loans. These models are used to measure the credit risk associated with bank customers applying for First Mortgage or Home Equity products. Scorecards are critical inputs for approving requests for new credit or determining how much documentation is required to fulfill loans. Behavior models assess impacts of potential strategy changes.

In addition to supporting origination models, this position will work with internal and external partners to identify new tools or models that can improve credit decision with respect to collateral and capacity risk or streamline fulfillment processes.

This role also provides subject matter expertise an ownership of credit model inputs such as credit bureau attributes and their usage. Assessment and selection of attributes ensures cross functional alignment, well understood, and consistently applied policies. Ensuring proper model inputs also enhances model development efforts from both an efficiency, longevity, and regulatory aspects.

1. Scorecard Strategy: Provides key data support and analysis required to develop and maintain origination scorecard strategies. The following list highlights essential scorecard activities.

+ Extract and reconcile data to key Bank reports.

+ Evaluate Scorecard performance in conjunction with strategy

+ Socialize scorecard strategy with business partners.

2. Build and maintain tools to enhance lending strategy and guidelines to better manage collateral and capacity risk. Leverage data sources to determine the key components of collateral and capacity risk and how they interact with other policy guidelines.

3. Model Inputs: Understand the sources, structure and usage of credit bureau attributes. Support internal/external data extracts of credit bureaus. Develop performance assessment and appropriateness of bureau policies.

Required Skills:

+ A Bachelors degree in a quantitative field is required

+ Candidates must have strong analytical, logical reasoning, and problem solving skills.

+ Work experience with SAS and SQL plus excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.

Desired Skills:

+ Experience in credit risk management or in Consumer Real Estate is preferred.

+ A Masters degree in a quantitative field is also preferred.

Enterprise Description:

Responsible for performing more complex analysis and modeling for multiple products with the goal of maximizing profits and asset growth and minimizing risk and operating losses and/or other financial and marketing exposures. Develops complex program models to extract data and uses multiple databases to acquire statistical and financial data. Utilizes portfolio trends to propose policy/procedural changes within segmentation structure to produce optimal results. Excels at risk/reward trade off. Build relationships with external agencies. Participates in the rollout of company-wide pilot programs developed as a result of programmed models. Duties primarily include the regular use of discretion, independent judgment, the ability to communicate with multiple levels of management and the utilization of core leadership behaviors. SAS and/or MicroStrategy experience preferred; 2-5 years’ experience preferred.
